Cover and Interior Design
In early 2019 I had the opportunity to design the book Road Sides: An Illustrated Companion to Dining and Driving in the American South by Emily Wallace with the University of Texas Press. A beautifully written and richly illustrated book, Road Sides takes the reader on an alphabetical road trip through the American South, writing about the many restaurants, landmarks, and histories to discover. During the project, I was able to collaborate directly with Emily on the layout and placement of over 100 custom illustrations (this number does not including the individually lettered chapter titles and locations).
